The families of young people lost after a devastating fire at a bar in a Switzerland's winter destination are enduring an agonising wait for confirmed information and pleading for information about their loved ones via social media.

The fire devastated the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of the Valais region, in the middle of the night of the first day of the year. Circulated footage depict the ceiling catching alight as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Emergency services have warned that it could take considerable time to identify the fatalities of the tragedy, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and wounded another over a hundred. Officials stated on the latest update that 113 of the injured have been accounted for, with work ongoing to identify the remaining few.

In the meantime, loved ones have been posting on the internet to request any news about their loved ones who were in attendance that evening.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

The location of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, 16, are currently unknown, according to an appeal from his family.

The resident of a town near the city, informed a publication that she had gone back to the city to check whether he was in the hospital, while his father did the equivalent search in the capital, but did not locate him.

"I'm living a nightmare, a nightmare. The options are finding my son in the hospital mortuary, or I find him in a serious state. Words cannot describe it," she told the paper.

She added that some of his peers had been located with injuries covering a significant portion of their bodies. "It's unspeakable; they went through an absolute nightmare."

The Italy's government has indicated that six of its young people have not been located.

His parent, told media that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is not yet.

Further Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, sixteen, is also among the missing. His parent said that he had been on holiday but had gone out with a group and ended up at the bar.

"Someone with him informed me they ran away after the fire started and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she recounted, adding he had been wearing a identifiable piece of jewelry.

One of his educators said, "I've always been struck by his good nature and smile, combined with great responsibility. Often ask if get me a coffee."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss nationality but lives permanently in the country, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her brother has published an urgent request online, saying the family has had "no information" regarding the teenager or the three friends she was with, who are also reported missing.
